Jefferson (Ga.) five-star linebacker Sammy Brown recently noted that his recruiting was reaching its ‘end game’. That conclusion will come to an end after he knocks out all of of his official visits.

Brown kicked off off June with an official visit to Clemson. While he’s visited several times already, this latest visit may have helped the Tigers even more in their pursuit of Brown.

Following recent industry updates, the Tigers hold a firm lead in Brown’s recruitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Clemson sits with a 68.6% chance to land Brown’s pledge.

“Clemson probably has one of the best cultures in college football,” Brown told On3’s Chad Simmons in May. “It is family-based and it is a strong culture there. At Clemson, as a player, you as able to talk to anyone at any time about anything. They are great people there. Because of that culture, Clemson is bringing in great people that are great football players and that is why they are successful.”

The 6-foot-2.5, 225-pounder is the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Georgia.

Over the next few weeks Brown will get additional looks at Georgia (June 9), Oklahoma (June 16) and Ohio State (June 23). He visited Tennessee in May for an official visit.

Following those visits, Brown told Simmons he’ll take two weeks off and take a vacation with his family. A final decision could come sometime during that time away.

“It wouldn’t be bad to make a beach commitment, but I see it happening sometime in that two-week window before going back to workouts at Jefferson to prepare for my senior season,” Brown said.

Landing Brown would be a major win for Dabo Swinney

A commitment from Brown would be the stepping stone Dabo Swinney and his staff need as they look to build another top-five class.

Clemson currently sits with eight commitments in 2024 class. The class ranks No. 14 in the country and No. 2 in the ACC. Four-star tight end Christian Bentancur is the Tigers’ highest-ranked player in the class as the No. 84 player in the country.

The Tigers landed one five-star commitment during the 2023 recruiting cycle in defensive lineman Peter Woods.

Clemson signed 26 players during the 2023 recruiting cycle. It’s class ranked No. 11 in the country and No. 2 in the ACC.
