A brotherly duo will be taking the field in the ACC in 2023 as Clemson football added Austin Randall, the older brother of wideout Adam Randall, to the roster as a walk on. Austin Randall has transferred to Clemson after graduating from Coastal Carolina, where he also played football.

After three seasons at Coastal Carolina, Randall had appeared in 14 games, including all 13 in 2022 — he played mostly as a special teamer. He’s listed as a defensive back for Clemson and, as a walk-on, will likely be gunning for special teams reps again as a path to the field.

“Reunited at last” Adam Randall said in a tweet that included pictures of him and his brother in Clemson uniforms.

A true freshman in 2022, Adam Randall was limited during the season due to an injury. He still played in 12 games for Clemson, catching 10 passes and playing 290 offensive snaps. As a sophomore, he’s expected to play a big role in the Tigers passing offense.

And he’ll likely get a few practice reps against his brother along the way now, as both Austin Randall and Adam Randall are Tigers in 2023.

Austin Randall isn’t the only addition this summer for Clemson

According to David Hood of TigerNetChad Morris is back in the Clemson program as an offensive analyst. Morris is reportedly still going through the “hiring process” but once he is confirmed back with the Tigers, Hood says he will have a similar role as Ted Roof before he followed Brent Venables to Oklahoma.

Head coach Dabo Swinney hired Morris ahead of the 2011 season to become the offensive coordinator. He remained there through 2014, having a ton of success with quarterback Tajh Boyd. Clemson won a ton of games through the four-year period, reaching double-digit wins every single time.

Two different times did Clemson have a top-10 scoring offense in the country. The 2012 season saw the nation’s sixth-highest scoring average at 41.0 points per game. The Tigers had just as many games with over 50 points as they did below 30.

He then left to take his first coaching job in college football with the SMU Mustangs. Morris’s performance in University Park was so good, Arkansas called him up for an SEC head coaching role. Success was not as rampant there, taking the Hogs to a new low before being fired in the middle of his second season.

Auburn was the last place Morris was an assistant coach, spending one year with Gus Malzahn before a coaching change was made on the Plains.
