Clemson offers 4-star S Ricardo Jones
Warner Robins (Ga.) Northside four-star safety Ricardo Jones received an offer from Clemson while on a visit Friday. He announced the news on Twitter.
Jones is the No. 110 overall prospect and No. 9 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 19 player in Georgia.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder holds several Power Five offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Auburn as the favorite to land a commitment from Jones at 37%.
Jones has visited four times, more than any other school, and took his last trip to campus on March 3.
“(Auburn is) Right up there at the top,” Jones told On3 following the visit. “High energy. I came here last year and it’s way different compared to this year. Coach (Hugh) Freeze, he brought that staff and brought all of those people who are high energy. I love it.”
After that visit Jones said that he’ll likely be taking an official visit in June or July. He noted Tennessee, Florida State and Michigan as other schools he’s considering taking an official to.
Clemson currently six commitments in its 2024 recruiting class including four four-star commitments. The Tigers have the No. 12 class in the country and No. 3 class in the ACC.
The Tigers finished the 2023 recruiting cycle with 26 signees, the No. 10 class in the country and the No. 2 class in the ACC.
