4-star OT Spencer Fano taking official visit to Clemson
Provo (Utah) Timpview four-star offensive tackle Spencer Fano is taking an official visit to Clemson this weekend for the Tigers’ regular-season finale against South Carolina. He announced the news over social media on Friday.
Fano is the No. 145 overall prospect and No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Utah.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect is announcing his commitment on Dec. 6. He previously revealed a top four of BYU, Michigan, Oregon and Utah.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Ducks have a commanding lead for Fano’s commitment at 84%. Fano was last in Eugene on Sept. 30 for an official visit.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Regarding Clemson, the Tigers’ 2023 recruiting class is No. 9 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the ACC. Head coach Dabo Swinney and his staff currently have one offensive tackle commit in McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian Academy four-star Zechariah Owens, the No. 228 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.
Fano has an On3 NIL Valuation of $110K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Quality kick slide and footwork to live on an island at either tackle spot. Lacks ideal overall mass and strength throughout his frame.
“One of the few top offensive linemen nationally who does not have verified size or length. Biggest question mark for how soon he can see the field will be his ability to put on good weight. Must add power in order to play with necessary functional strength. Has a high upside due to his movement skills but a low floor as well if he can not get his weight up.”
