Clemson makes top 12 schools for 2023 wide receiver

As Clemson looks to continue to stockpile its wide receiver room, it received some good news on Tuesday night.

The Tigers landed on the shortlist for four-star wideout Christian Hamilton. A key target in the 2023 class for the Tigers, Hamilton is No. 2 overall prospect out of the state of North Carolina according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The junior at Hickory Ridge High School (Harrisburg, North Carolina) included Clemson along with South Carolina, Notre Dame, Louisville, Texas A&M, NC State, North Carolina, Penn State, Georgia, Purdue, Oregon and Wake Forest.

The 5-foot-11, 167-pound receiver paid an unofficial visit to Clemson in October for the Boston College matchup.

“I can see myself playing there,” Hamilton told On3’s Jeremy Johnson at the time. “Their system uses their wide receivers really well. I can just imagine playing there and being in that system.”

Since then, Clemson lost its offensive coordinator. But the Tigers still have Tyler Grisham coaching the receivers room. A top-150 player in the On3 consensus, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) has North Carolina leading in this recruitment. Clemson sits at No. 2 for the four-star on the RPM with a 25% chance.

All-American Bowl players discuss what makes Cade Klubnik special

Last week, high school prospects from across the nation poured into San Antonio in droves.

That’s not an exaggeration as 500-plus players laced up their cleats and showcased their skill sets at Friday’s National Combine. A day later, some of the top 2022 recruits in the nation took the field in the Alamodome for the All-American Bowl.

In that game, Clemson quarterback signee Cade Klubnik was dynamic, tossing for three touchdowns and winning All-American Bowl Player of the Yearhonors. One of those touchdowns was to USC signee C.J. Williams, who was his favorite target throughout the week.

Clemson Sports spoke with Williams, as well as future Ohio State signal caller Devin Brown and elite defensive back Xavier Nwankpa, about what makes Klubnik such a special talent.
