Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler has announced that he has decommitted from the Colorado Buffaloes, per 247Sports’ Greg Biggins.

He originally committed to the Buffs on May 16, choosing Colorado over Georgia, Oregon, and others.

Butler is the nation’s No. 137 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the cycle’s No. 6 athlete and No. 13 recruit from California.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $133K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Butler was one of four blue-chip recruits committed to Deion Sanders and his staff in Boulder. That list now comprises of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, Statesboro (Ga.) four-star cornerback Kam Mikell and West Bloomfield (Mich.) four-star defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain.

Seaton committed to the Buffs on Friday — a shocker after Colorado was left off his ultimate list of finalists. He chose Colorado over the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Maryland, Ohio State and Oregon.

“When I make my decision, one thing that is very important to me is where I live,” Seaton told On3 about Colorado in November. “You only play football so many days of the year, so I want to be somewhere that I like living. The surroundings at Colorado definitely stand out. When you think of Colorado, you think of buffaloes and mountains. But you can go 15 minutes off campus and there is a big city like I am back home. The whole environment at Colorado is something I like.”
