Andrew Crawford, the No. 1 player in the state of Colorado, has decided to stay home and play for Tad Boyle and the Buffaloes.

The 6-foot-6, 175-pound small forward out of Littleton (Colo.) ThunderRidge chose the in-state Colorado program over offers from Oregon, Northwestern, Stanford, and others.

Crawford is now Colorado’s fifth highest-ranked commitment in program history, only behind Cody Williams (2023), Lawson Lovering (2021), Josh Scott (2012), and KJ Simpson (2021).

“The commitment they showed me from day one was incomparable,” Crawford said to On3. “The coaching staff was always present at my practices and games. I took an official visit my junior year which was a great experience, where I got to meet all the wonderful staff they have there. Another huge influence is Steve (Englehart) who is the strength trainer there. He has proven to transform players bodies in the past, so I’m super excited to start training with him.”

In his own words, what type of player is Colorado getting in Crawford?

“I am a big combo guard, who loves to get downhill and playmake for teammates, good defender and rebounder with a high IQ and feel for the game.”

He has a message to Colorado fans.

“Super excited to get up there next year and get to business! Sko Buffs!”

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Crawford is the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 31 small forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Crawford Scouting Report

“Andrew Crawford has a lengthy frame with good size. You like the connecting aspects of his game. He is able to move the ball, handle in tight spaces, and create opportunities for his team. The shooting will need to continue to improve. His trajectory has a tendency to get flat and off-center. He is a very good passer, and you can line him up to run offense through from multiple areas on the floor. He is a versatile defender. Can guard on or off the ball. Finishes well at the rim. Like to see him become more of a scoring threat in the half court. His versatility, on both ends, enables a team to do a lot around and with him.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
