Colorado has officially entered the race for one of the best offensive tackles in the 2025 cycle.

On Monday, Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola announced that he has received an offer from Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.

The offer comes off the heels of Babalola sharing his upcoming spring visit plans with On3’s Chad Simmons. The 6-foot-5.5, 280-pounder told Simmons that he has locked in spring visits to Auburn, Michigan, Missouri, Texas A&M, USC and Stanford. He is also setting official visits with Oklahoma and Tennessee.

“I have started the process and I am trimming my list down,” Babalola told On3. “Some schools have started to stand out to me and I am getting to where I am narrowing it all down. My plan is to get to places this spring, then at the end of April, compare all the schools and decide on four schools I want to take my official visits to.”

Colorado will look to insert itself into the middle of Babalola’s contenders. The Buffaloes are fresh off of signing Five-Star Plus+ OT Jordan Seaton, the top-ranked player at his position in the 2024 cycle. CU is still without a commitment in its 2025 class.

Andrew Babalola Recruiting Profile

Babalola is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 3 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Kansas.

On3’s Rankings and Scouting team writes this about Babalola as a prospect:

“Immensely gifted offensive tackle who has the physical traits and athletic ability to develop into one of the top prospects at the position in the 2025 cycle. New to football, playing his first year of varsity action as a junior, previously being a basketball-first athlete. Measured in at over 6-foot-5, 280 pounds with arms over 34 inches prior to his junior season. A naturally flexible athlete. Has a flat back in his stance and plays low, sinking his hips to drive up through defenders. A strong functional mover. Moves well and shows light feet. Has advanced balance and shows a strong base, playing with his feet rooted in the ground. Shows surprising and borderline startling play strength for a developmental tackle.

…Consistently manhandles defensive linemen at the point of attack. Sustains blocks with his strong grip strength and often finishes with authority, planting defensive linemen in the dirt. Shows an encouraging level of physicality and nastiness. Will need to continue honing his overall technique, particularly in pass protection. Just scratching the surface of his considerable potential and could challenge as the top tackle in the 2025 cycle with continued development.”
