Tennessee redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava is set to take the college football world by storm next fall, but he’s just the first in a line of quarterbacks in his family.

His younger brother, 2025 four-star passer Madden Iamaleava, already holds more than 15 Power Five offers of his own. And he added a notable one on Tuesday as Colorado extended him an offer.

The Buffaloes join TCU, SMU, Tennessee, Auburn, Miami, Pittsburgh and others in pursuit of the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder out of Long Beach (Calif.) Warren.

Iamaleava has only made a handful of recruiting visits thus far, including trips to Tennessee, SMU and TCU. But with the 2025 cycle beginning in earnest over the next few weeks, that is sure to change.

Watching his brother, who was On3’s No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 class, go through the recruiting process will only prepare him more for his own, he believes.

“It helps me a lot, definitely,” he previously told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I definitely know what I want and what to expect from all these colleges and what certain colleges would want from me, to see if I become their top priority. Seeing it all be laid out for Nico, I really got the key. It’s definitely a head start, opposed to other kids.”

When he went on recruiting trips with Nico, Madden took a “laid-back” approach by closely observing how coaches treated his brother.

“I’m definitely looking forward to it,” Madden said of his recruitment. “Watching Nico’s whole process, everything he went through, all the chaos and everything, I definitely feel like it’s gonna be the same thing for me. I know what to expect.”

In his first season as a full-time starter in 2023, Iamaleava completed 196 of his 311 attempts, while throwing for more than 3,600 yards and 43 touchdowns. He also added 305 yards and three touchdowns on the ground as well.
