River Rouge (Mich.) four-star wide receiver and Michigan State commit Nick Marsh has picked up an offer from Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.

Shortly after Michigan State announced its plans to terminate head coach Mel Tucker amidst a Title IX investigation, Colorado reached out to the Spartans commit with an offer.

Colorado is off to a hot start in its first season under Sanders. The Buffs are 3-0 with wins over TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State.

Marsh is the nation’s No. 126 overall prospect and No. 23 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Michigan.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $117,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Flipping Marsh would be major boost for CU

Marsh pledged to Michigan State back in early July, saying after his commitment that family played a major role in his decision to stay close to home.

“Family played a lot,” Marsh said. “I would love for my family to be able to travel close by and will love having them come and see the games and be able to support me.

“I seek their guidance a lot. They pointed out a few things that I may have missed. My family played a big part in it. Hearing their thoughts played a big role.”

Now, with the coaching staff at MSU in limbo, the entire recruiting class will have to make some difficult decisions before signing day this winter.

Colorado ranks No. 61 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but has been making plenty of noise lately with visits from elite prospects around the country.

Five-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, Birmingham (Ala.) four-star Alabama defensive line commit Jeremiah Beaman, Chattanooga (Tenn.) Bradley Central four-star Tennessee commit Boo Carter and Belleville (Mich.) 2025 Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood were just some of the big names to visit Boulder recently.

Beaman’s trip to Boulder went so well, that he is now planning an official visit with Colorado later this year.

If Marsh were to end up joining this Buffaloes class, he would be the second-highest-ranked recruit in the group. Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler committed to Colorado back in May and headlines the class. He is currently the lone blue-chip recruit pledged to the Buffs.
