Colorado Buffs, Deion Sanders WIN OVERTIME THRILLER vs Colorado State | Shedeur Sanders GOES OFF!

During an appearance on “College Gameday” prior to Colorado’s matchup against Colorado State on Saturday, Deion Sanders told the show’s hosts to keep the cameras rolling during his handshake with CSU head coach Jay Norvell after the game. Following Colorado’s 43-35 win in double overtime, Sanders broke down the postgame interaction.

“I know Shedeur kind of got in between us,” Sanders said. “I can be petty if they’re petty, but I ain’t got time for that. I’m on to bigger things. I’m happy for the brother. I really am. I’m happy that they fought and played a good game. I’m happy that he’s a head coach. I’m happy for any brother that’s doing it and successful, man. I truly am.”

Besides the thousands of students storming the field after the victory, the two coaches weren’t alone at midfield. Colorado QB and Deion’s son, Shedeur, joined the brief meeting. After the trio exchanged words, Shedeur seemingly held up his wrist, referencing a similar motion he used to taunt Nebraska the week before.

There was no shortage of bad blood on Saturday. With late hits and eye pokes, the game looked more like a WWE match than a college football game, at times. The beef started earlier in the week when Norvell criticized Deion Sanders’ decision to wear a hat and sunglasses during interviews. Norvell claimed his mother taught him better.

Sanders clapped back.

“We started off the week. We’re exchanging, being pleasant, like coaches do. Even though sometimes they don’t mean it, they do it anyway,” Sanders explained. “And he just took a left, he took a left. And the thing about us, you know, you can’t talk about momma now. You insinuate something about momma, that momma ain’t raised me right. Momma may be in the pregame speech today. That’s how personal it got.”

Momma was indeed there for the pregame speech. Nonetheless, the game wasn’t very mannerly. The two teams combined for 27 penalties, totaling 269 yards. Despite the teams’ animosity on the field, Sanders attempted to squash the conflict during the postgame press conference.

“I don’t know where all this stuff comes from. I have to respond because my mama taught me that,” Sanders said. “You ain’t just gonna attack me and I’m gonna sit back and not say anything. But, I’m happy for that dude, man. I don’t know him, but I’m happy for him.

“I wish the best for him. I really do. My success ain’t got nothing do with his, so why would I not want him to succeed? I don’t know how people get down like that. My blessings don’t got nothing to do with his blessings.”
