No program in the country has had more interactions in and out of the transfer portal than Colorado. Deion Sanders has proven that he’s not afraid to rebuild the Buffalo’s program by any means necessary. With that in mind, he has sent yet another message that reflects the energy that he has brought to Boulder.

In a tweet from this weekend, On3’s Josh Newberg pointed out how Charles Brantley, a cornerback who recently announced his intention to leave Michigan State via the portal, grew up nearby to Sanders’ hometown.

In a quote tweet in reply, Coach Prime dropped a bar from Tupac in order to say, regardless of where you are or are from, he isn’t hard to find when it comes to potential additions.

Brantley just wrapped up his sophomore year with the Spartans as a full-time starter. In that campaign, he finished with 48 tackles, six pass deflections, a sack, and a pick-six. In total, that gave him career numbers of 66 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and two interceptions in his 19 games while in East Lansing.

As a product of Venice, Florida which, again, is nearby to Sanders’ hometown of Fort Myers, Brantley came out as a three-star prospect in the 2021 class per On3’s Industry Rankings.

This is exactly the kind of product Sanders has seemingly had his eyes on. Their connection from back home could potentially add to that interest. His need for playmakers could also make Brantley an option considering Colorado has had 56 players transfer out of the program, including 14 from positions in the secondary.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Brantley ends up with Sanders out in Colorado. Still, regardless of whether that happens or not, Coach Prime has once again sent his message through the words of Pac about his use of the portal.

Colorado transfer, family member speak out on mass portal exodus

Is Deion Sanders forcing kids out of Colorado?

41 Colorado football players players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal since the April 15 window — and it isn’t a coincidence. If you don’t fit Coach Prime’s bill, he doesn’t want you in his program. Some players have had to learn that the hard way.

“I couldn’t have stayed (at Colorado),” Grant Page, a former Buffs wide receiver told the Denver Post on Monday. “I really wanted to. They said it was just best for me to leave.” Page entered the portal shortly after Colorado’s spring game.

It’s not like this has been an easy transition for anyone involved. Sanders is trying to mold Colorado’s program into a very specific shape, and players holding over from the previous regime just aren’t that.

John Tyson, the father of Colorado transfer Jordyn Tyson wasn’t happy with the new trajectory of the program, either. Tyson was the Buffaloes’ leading receiver returning to the program. He hauled in 22 receptions for 470 yards and five touchdowns in 2022 and also served as the team’s primary kick and punt returner.

All this proves is that there isn’t a single soul is safe from Sanders’ perjury of last season’s leftovers.

“My thoughts on Deion wouldn’t be good, so I’m not going to say anything,” John Tyson said. “It’s a bad situation for us as a family, I will say that. And it’s unfortunate, but it’s the nature of the system.”
