Final On3 2024 5-star Rankings 13 Newly Minted 5-stars!! New No. 1 Qb | Inside Scoop

On3 has released its final recruiting ranking for the 2024 class after the completion of the high school football season and all-star competitions. Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star offensive tackle and Colorado signee Jordan Seaton is the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2024 On300.

The latest edition of On3’s 2024 rankings features 32 five-star players, up from 21 in the penultimate update in November. Of those 32 prospects, 29 are signed to college programs, with three still yet to make their decisions official.

This final update comes after the end of the high school playoffs and postseason All-American games, where top prospects across the country faced off in a week of practices and ended with nationally televised games.

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Seaton left no stone unturned in his recruitment. He made a surprise commitment to Colorado on Dec. 7 — even though the Buffaloes did not make his final cut of schools ahead of his announcement.

Committing was far from the end of things for Seaton, however. Many speculated that he would not stick to his pledge with the Buffs, as the likes of Oregon, Alabama, Ohio State and Maryland were thought to be potential late landing spots. Eventually, Colorado announced that Seaton was officially signed on Dec. 22.

“Sometimes you want to make sure that you’re choosing the right reasons and you’re making the right choice,” Seaton told reporters on Dec. 29. “Ohio State was hitting me up, Tennessee was trying to come see me. Every school was trying to do everything they had to to make the last push.”

Ultimately, it was Seaton’s relationship with Deion Sanders and the chance to make history in Boulder that put Colorado on top.

“It’s kind of amazing to have. The amount of time that we had wasn’t a lot, but the amount of time we spent and how we spent it with each other kind of made the big difference for me,” Seaton said of his relationship with Coach Prime.

…For example, it was my mother’s birthday and there were only two schools that said happy birthday to my mother — Colorado was one of them. Just little things like that, that stood out to me, because it’s like ‘oh, he cares about me first, regardless of how good I am or how good I could be.’ Sometimes you go to these big programs and for every Evan Neal, there’s another five-star.”

Jordan Seaton Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about Seaton as a prospect:

“Polished offensive tackle who is one of the more battle-tested prospects at the position in the 2024 cycle. Measured at over 6-foot-5, 295 pounds prior to his senior season. Has a big frame and plus length for the position with arm length over 34 inches and a verified 10.75-inch hand. Dropped considerable weight as a junior after previously weighing over 330 pounds. Technically sound and well-rounded from a skill perspective. Looks ahead of the curve in pass protection. Flashes good reactive quickness. Understands pass rush plans and works to neutralize rushers. Uses his redirect skills to mirror and quick, strong hands to neutralize at the point of attack.

…Drops his weight and anchors on contact. Also show some physicality and nastiness as a run blocker. Looks to move much better as a junior with the weight loss. Lined up at left tackle for St. John’s College and faced top competition on a weekly basis. Transferred to IMG Academy for his senior season. Does not have positive athletic markers other than film. Can also continue to improve his ankle flexion. Overall polish and experience against top competition makes him one of the more ready to play offensive linemen in the cycle.”
