Colorado Buffs Lose at UCLA | Deion Sanders, What NOW? | Can Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders Respond?

Deion Sanders took Colorado to the Rose Bowl for the first time last weekend to take on UCLA, but some post-game fallout overshadowed the game on the field.

After the Buffaloes fell to the Bruins, it was revealed that several Colorado players apparently had belongings stolen, including several chains. Immediately, the Pasadena Police became involved, and the latest development in the case has come to light.

It’s a positive one, as the Pasadena Police revealed on Saturday that they’ve recovered and returned some of the stolen items to the Colorado football team. Evidently, it was a group of juveniles who committed the crime against the Buffaloes.

“Police recovered and returned ‘several’ of the items stolen from Colorado’s players last week at the Rose Bowl, according to Pasadena (Calif.) police,” wrote David Ubben of The Athletic. “Police said calls to their tip line produced leads that led them to the suspects, who are juveniles.

“Their names were not released, but police said detectives followed up on leads from the tip line and executed search warrants that recovered the items. The investigation is still ongoing, according to police.”

Moreover, the issue came to light when a video posted online showed a handful of players discussing the issue outside of the facilities following the game, which ended in a 28-16 UCLA win. Multiple players lamented the theft, including some that had just purchased chains recently.

UCLA head coach Chip Kelly was stunned by the incident and called it “awful” following the Bruins’ victory

“I was just told walking over here, awful,” Kelly said. “The Pasadena Police were looking into it, but I literally just found out one minute ago so.”

UCLA made a statement regarding the stolen jewelry the day after the game and how the Pasadena Police will be involved in the efforts.

“The UCLA athletic department confirmed that a report was filed to the Pasadena Police Department following the UCLA-Colorado football game regarding items that were reportedly missing from the Colorado locker room,” the statement read. “UCLA is in communication with law enforcement, Rose Bowl Stadium officials, and the University of Colorado on the matter.”

Before the belongings were returned to the Buffaloes, Sanders had the perfect response to the Rose Bowl, calling on the powers at be to reimburse their players.

“This is the Rose Bowl,” Sanders said, via Ubben. “They say the Granddaddy of them all, right? I’m sure Granddaddy has some money.”

Alas, it looks like the issue is on it’s way to being solved, which is some good news for Colorado as they enter the stretch run.
