Colorado Get BACK ON TRACK

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders couldn’t have predicted that simply flashing his watch would get him so much attention. Following Saturday’s 27-24 victory against Arizona State, Sanders ran over to the Sun Devils student section and pointed to the watch he was wearing on his left wrist, smiling and shrugging before jogging away.

The moment, which Sanders’ father and Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders dubbed “The Shedeur”, went viral, even catching the attention of producer DJ Khaled. The pop culture icon posted a picture of his own watch and tagged Sanders on social media.

The Colorado signal caller addressed the moment in a Tuesday press conference, expressing surprise that the gesture had caused so much discussion.

“Oh when DJ Khaled did the watch?” he said. “I don’t know, it just happened. I didn’t know it was really gonna blow up or anything like that because it was just in the moment. Nothing was premeditated to where I know, ‘OK, I’m gonna go do this.’ It just happened and he just took it and ran with it.”

Shedeur Sanders and Colorado have taken the college football world by storm this year after he followed his father to Boulder this offseason. Colorado is already off to a 4-2 start under Deion Sanders after winning just one game last season.

Shedeur Sanders currently leads the FBS with 2,020 yards passing, 16 touchdowns and two interceptions. That has created a lot of buzz around both him and the team, and with the viral watch moment from Saturday, it is likely to only continue to grow.

Deion Sanders believes Shedeur Sanders should capitalize on watch celebration with NIL deal

Deion Sanders wants Shedeur to capitalize on the moment and potentially get him a new watch to wear via a NIL deal. If this much attention is going to be on his postgame celebration, why not get a brand to dish out a few dollars to be the watch he wears during his postgame celebration?

“We’ve just got to get him a lucrative watch deal,” Deion Sanders said on Tuesday. “He can’t keep doing it for free. We got to capitalize. He is my son. We gotta capitalize on the moment, right?”

Sanders is viewed as one of the most valuable college athletes in there, having an On3 NIL Valuation of $4.8 million. The valuation is No. 2 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation. The valuation also ranks No. 1 in college football.
