Duke point guard Jeremy Roach available to play vs. Miami

An unranked Duke team hosts a ranked Miami squad at Cameron Indoor today. The rare occurrence in Durham where the visiting team is the better one heading into the matchup. And this is a win the Blue Devils could really use from a resume standpoint. They’ve already dropped three ACC games and are trending towards the bubble. A ranked win vs. the ‘Canes is the perfect shot in the arm if they’re able to take care of business.

That task might be a little bit easier now that we know starting point guard Jeremy Roach will be available today against Miami, according the team Twitter account, who posted this tweet confirming Roach’s status Saturday morning:

Jeremy Roach missed the team’s previous three games with a lingering toe injury, but apparently feels good enough to go today. A huge development for Jon Scheyer’s group. Miami presents a tough challenge in the backcourt, with three to four guards who can fill up the cup. Roach may not be a tremendous defender, but he gives Duke a lot more firepower in their own backcourt to help combat the gunners on the Hurricane sideline.
