After entering the transfer portal earlier this month, Duke’s Jalen Alexander is set to visit another ACC school, Louisville, according to a report from 247Sports’ Jody Demling.

Alexander, who has played in all 33 games since joining the Blue Devil program in 2019, ranked second among solo tacklers in 2021 with 33 after making the start in Duke’s final five game stretch this past season. The 5-foot-11 junior only trailed star linebacker Shaka Hayward (37) on the team and had 42 total stops in 2021.

Alexander started two games and found himself for all 12 of Duke’s games during his true freshman season. He finished with 17 tackles, two interceptions, one tackle for a loss, and one quarterback hurry. He had at least one tackle in 10 of 12 games that season as well.

As a sophomore, Alexander played in all 11 games, making two starts against North Carolina and Charlotte, respectively. He finished with 15 tackles, two pass breakups, one tackle for a loss, and one quarterback hurry before his breakout junior season.

A Loganville, Ga. native, Alexander was a standout product of Grayson High School. He finished his senior season with 141 tackles, earning him three-star status, per the On3 recruiting consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Alexander in currently the No. 49 rated safety that has put his name in the 2022 offseason transfer portal, according to On3 Sports. The rankings cover the top-50 players at each position that have entered the portal.

Louisville has already signed five players out of the transfer portal since their season ended: former Temple safety MJ Griffin (unranked), Tennessee running back Tiyon Evans (No. 3 RB), Miami wide receiver Dee Wiggins (unranked), Ole Miss linebacker MoMo Sanogo (No. 44 LB) and Central Arkansas wide receiver Tyler Hudson (unranked).

The Cardinals have room for four more players to join the roster in their 2022 class. If Alexander wants to make the move to Louisville, it looks like he’ll need to quickly with their transfer spots filling up quickly less than a month after the conclusion of the 2021 season.
