Duke’s Wendell Moore, Jr. has proven that he’s one of the most explosive dunkers in college basketball. In case college basketball fans needed a fresh reminder, he gave them one on Saturday night against Syracuse. Watch below as he gets the steal on the fast break, takes off, and sends it in with authority.

The tomahawk slam was one of the best dunks of the day and like Corey Alexander noted in the broadcast on ESPN, it will likely be a SportsCenter top 10 nominee. What a dunk! Moore is one of the most complete players in college basketball and he’s proven it this year in the stat sheet. He averages 13.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 4.5 assists per game this season. The junior forward is also shooting 51.5 percent from the field.

In the 2019 recruiting cycle, he was rated as the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect according to the On3 Consensus. A number of mock drafts across the country currently have Moore and the rest of Duke’s starting five as being selected in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft.

One of his best games this season came against Appalachian State on Dec. 16. He stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and six assists in a 92-67 blowout.

The Blue Devils are currently routing the Syracuse Orange 65-45 with 15:20 remaining in the second half. The Blue Devils will be a tough out in March, as long as they can stay healthy. Three Blue Devils have scored in double figures tonight against Syracuse, AJ Griffin, Paolo Banchero, and Mark Williams.

Moore suffered a scary fall earlier in the year

Wendell Moore, Jr. suffered a scary fall earlier in the year, in which he was drilled by Clemson’s David Collins as he was going up for a dunk. Collins hit him from behind at full speed and luckily for the Duke standout, he ended up being okay.

Duke will be an exciting team to watch in March as they are absolutely loaded with talent all over the place in Coach K’s final season of college basketball.
