Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern wide receiver Kaleb Webb has decommitted from East Carolina, he announced Sunday morning.

Webb is the No. 384 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 57 wide receiver and the No. 35 prospect in Georgia this cycle.

“Big thanks to Coach Houston for believing in me as a player and taking a chance on me,” Webb wrote on Twitter. “He gave me an opportunity to pursue my dreams of playing at the next level and I’m very thankful for that. With that being said I’ve decided to decommit from East Carolina University.”

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Webb chose the Pirates in June after taking an official visit. But his recruitment blew up in recent months, with Tennessee, Ole Miss, Louisville, Michigan and a host of others extending offers.

He visited the Volunteers unofficially in October, before taking an official visit to Louisville on Oct. 22 and Michigan on Nov. 5. He returned to Knoxville this past weekend for an official visit, as well. Those three schools are now considered the major contenders for his commitment with 10 days until the early signing period begins.

As a senior at McEachern this fall, Kaleb Webb hauled in 83 passes for 1,601 yards and 18 touchdowns. He’s also a dynamic returner, notching four touchdowns there as well. A state qualifier in track as a junior, Webb has reported sub-11 second 100-meter dash times as well.
