Havana (Fla.) Gadsden County three-star defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud has committed to Florida, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

He chose the Gators following his decommitment from Mississippi State on April 21.

McCloud is the No. 459 overall prospect and No. 38 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 64 player in Florida.

Since the end of March, the Gators have had McCloud on campus three times. Georgia and LSU were also involved for the Sunshine State prospect, but Billy Napier and Co. won out for the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder.

“I went to the game where they played Florida State. That was the best college football game I’ve ever watched. The atmosphere at that game and on Florida game days is different,” McCloud previously told On3 of UF.

“They’re coming on,” he also told Gators Online on March 28. “They’re one of the top schools on my board right now because of the relationships. With the Gators, something I like is they’ve got something good going on.”

Gators back to four commitments in 2025 class

With McCloud now in the fold in Gainesville, Florida is back up to four commitments in its 2025 class.

Headlining the quartet is Tallahassee (Fla.) James Rickards four-star defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins. The lone top-100 prospect in the class thus far, Wiggins is also a top-10 player at his position and one of the best in his state.

Wiggins’ commitment came just one day after Atlanta Woodward three-star wide receiver Josiah Abdullah, who chose the Gators while also holding offers from the likes of Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Texas and more.

Tampa Plant four-star running back Waltez Clark is the longest-running commit in the fold for Napier and Co. He opted to pledge in September and is just outside the top 250 in the On3 Industry Ranking overall.

Florida’s class now ranks No. 21 in the nation and No. 11 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Off the back of a top-10 class last cycle, Napier and his staff will look to grab some additional momentum on the trail as official visit season kicks off.
