Gainesville (Fla.) F.W. Buchholz four-star defensive lineman Kendall Jackson has decommitted from Florida. He was pledged to the Gators since July 12.

Jackson is the No. 383 overall prospect and No. 37 DL in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 47 player in Florida.

“First, I’d like to thank Coach Napier for the opportunity to play the game I love at the University of Florida. I’d also like to thank Coach Peterson and Coach Armstrong for the opportunity as well. However, after much prayer and many conversations with my family, I have decided it is in my best interest to decommit from The University of Florida. Thank you,” Jackson wrote.

He does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Gators lose another blue-chip prospect in 2024 class

With Jackson now decommitted, Florida’s 2024 class features 19 commits. The Gators added the pledge of Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside three-star DL Michai Boireau for the second time earlier on Saturday. UF’s class checks in at No. 4 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Florida has been on the wrong side of multiple flips down the stretch this fall. Picayune (Miss.) Memorial four-star EDGE Jamonta Waller flipped to Auburn, Marrero (La.) John Ehret four-star cornerback Wardell Mack flipped to Texas and Dublin (Ga.) four-star DL Nasir Johnson flipped to Georgia.

Despite that, Billy Napier’s pledge list still features a host of high-profile prospects, including a trio of five-stars: Willis (Texas) quarterback DJ Lagway, Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland DL LJ McCray and McKinney (Texas) safety Xavier Filsaime. All three are top-30 prospects, while Lagway headlines as the No. 15 recruit and No. 3 QB.

In total, there are seven top-100 prospects in the UF class. Behind the aforementioned five-stars is the elite linebacker duo of Gainesville (Fla.) F.W. Buchholz four-star Myles Graham and Largo (Fla.) four-star Adarius Hayes. Other top commits include: Portal (Ga.) four-star tight end Amir Jackson, Olney (Md.) Good Counsel four-star LB Aaron Chiles and Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora four-star offensive tackle Fletcher Westphal.
