Sunday, May 8 is Mother’s Day across the country and plenty of athletes decided to celebrate the big day by giving their mom a really nice gift. Florida star defensive back Trey Dean III gave his mother a brand new Jeep for Mother’s Day, took a cool video and posted it to his Twitter account.

“Know My MAMA Proud of What Her Son Has Become! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY,” Dean tweeted.

It’s a remarkably nice gesture from the Florida Gator standout. It’s refreshing to see him reward his mother for all the time, effort, and energy she has put into raising him over the years.

Right at the end of the Gators’ 2021-2022 season, Dean made Florida fans downright ecstatic when he announced he was coming back to The Swamp for a fifth year.

“It has been said that a journey is never ending,” Dean said in the video. “There are lessons to be learned along the way. There will be adversity, there will be growth. There will be endless opportunities to improve. The work done in the dark when no one else is around. All of those things make the journey worthwhile. But despite all that, still know that the journey isn’t quite done yet. For me, I know I still have work to do.”

In his four years at Florida, Dean has 174 tackles — including 94 solo tackles — four sacks and four interceptions. He finished 14th in the SEC with 91 tackles this season.

Dean’s biggest game this season came in the Gasparilla Bowl against UCF when he had eight tackles in the Gators’ 29-17 loss to the Knights.

More recently, a few months ago, he was really excited about the new Florida head coach, Billy Napier, and had nothing but great things to say about his organizational structure.

According to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2018 class, Dean was rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 13 safety prospect in America. A highly touted high school prospect, the Hampton, Georgia native suited up in the 2017 Under Armour All-American Game. Dean chose Florida over Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia.
