Joey Slackman caused a lot of problems during his three seasons at Penn. Now, he’s a piece for Florida to build with after his commitment to them out of the transfer portal.

Slackman announced his commitment to the Gators via social media on Sunday.

Over his time with the Quakers, Slackman posted 113 tackles, 10.5 sacks, three pass deflections, and a forced fumble.

Slackman played high school football at Commack (NY) as a member of the 2020 class.

Per On3’s Portal Rankings, Slackman was the No. 2 DL available behind only Walter Nolen, the No. 1 available player on the board. He ranked as the No. 12 transfer overall in the portal.

After entering the portal, big-name programs immediately began to compete for his services with several offers coming in. However, after a successful visit to Gainesville, Billy Napier earned a major recruiting win in the portal by turning Slackman into a Gator for next season.

As of December 17th, 1,735 FBS players have entered the Transfer Portal.

While the NCAA Transfer Portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement. If you find yourself asking, ‘How can I track transfer portal activity?’ our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways, from articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, to our social media channels, to the On3 Transfer Portal.
