Duncanville (Texas) offensive tackle and Oregon pledge Cameron Williams was offered Florida today, he announced on Twitter.

Williams is the No. 389 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3’s own rankings are significantly higher on Williams, pegging him as the nation’s No. 278 prospect and the No. 21 offensive tackle in this cycle.

The 6-foot-5, 390-pounder committed to Oregon over offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia and others.

Cameron Williams will likely decommit from Oregon

However, On3 Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton expects Williams to be one of at least two Oregon commits to back off their pledges to the Ducks. The other was five-star offensive lineman Kelvin Banks, who decommitted yesterday. But for new schools — like Florida — there’s a catch with his recruitment. He has already used all five of his official visits, and he’s still playing in the Texas high school playoffs.

With the start of the early signing period eight days away, there’s very little time for Williams to look at other schools. However, Hamilton says two schools will definitely be in the mix.

“Texas and Texas A&M are right there,” Hamilton said. “He definitely won’t look at Miami, even though Mario is heading there. He has no visits left, but he has visited Texas unofficially. I think Texas is potentially in the driver’s seat.”
