Four-star wide receiver Jerrae Hawkins of Fredericksburg (VA) IMG Academy announced his commitment to Florida Monday afternoon.

The 5-foot-9, 168 pounder chose the Gators over Miami and Penn State.

Hawkins on why he chose Florida

“What stood out about UF was how they developed guys like me,” Hawkins said. “Also, how many receivers coaches they have will help a lot at my position.  I want to play in the SEC with the best!”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for Hawkins

“I’m close with coach Billy G, coach Doecker and Billy Napier,” Hawkins said. “They plan on using me like a Kadarius Toney type of way.”

The Sunshine State wide receiver joins coach Billy Napier and the Gator’ top 3 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star quarterback DJ Lagway, four-star safety Xavier Filsaime, and others.

Hawkins ranks as the No. 233 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 38 wide receiver and the No. 35 player in the state of Florida.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $64K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
