Four-star wide receiver Tawaski Abrams of Fort Myers (FL) Dunbar High flipped his commitment from Florida State to Florida Tuesday night.

The 5-foot-10, 190 pounder had been committed to the Seminoles since January.

Abrams on why he chose Florida

“Just the feeling I got from being there,” Abrams said. “It felt like the right place for me from the field to the classroom. Touring the facilities, getting to see that this place is really at the top when it comes to producing and creating great players let me know this is where I wanna be.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“Coach Billy G and coach Deck,” Abrams said. “I have really been chopping it up with them guys since the day I got the offer. Then just been really filling me in on how I can improve the offense and using my speed to not only better myself, but the team.”

Abrams ranks as the No. 263 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 46 wide receiver and the No. 37 player in the state of Florida.

The Sunshine State wide receiver joins coach Billy Napier and the Gators’ top 5 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star quarterback DJ Lagway, five-star safety Xavier Filsaime, and others.

Abrams currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $72K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
