Florida Gators running back Dameon Pierce is having some fun as he goes through the 2022 NFL Draft process. On Friday, Pierce stepped up to the bench press during the NFL Scouting Combine.

Pierce began the bench press on a quick start, easing through his first few reps. But as he went on, it obviously got tougher. As Pierce went for one of the last of his 21 reps, he had a hilarious moment with the spotter. Pierce didn’t want any help, and he made that clear in a great way.

“Don’t take that b****,” Pearce exclaimed as he struggled with a rep.

This past season was the fourth of Pierce’s career, all of which were spent with the Gators. In his collegiate career, Pierce totaled 329 rushes for 1,806 yards and 23 touchdowns, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. He also stepped up in the passing game, especially in the past two years. This past season, Piece caught 19 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns.

Even though he only had 100 carries this past season, and never had more than 106 in a single year, Pierce is looking to establish his stock ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft. Pierce might not be selected until Day 3, but with a strong showing at the Combine, he could slide his way into being a Day 2 selection if a team falls in love with him.

Former Florida coach Dan Mullen on Pierce

This past season was a struggle for Florida, and former head coach Dan Mullen was fired before the season came to a close. But earlier in the season, Mullen praised Pierce for the way he carries himself on and off the field, and his work ethic could be something that helps him make it in the NFL.

“I think he does a great job of setting an example of a guy that’s just [worried] about playing hard,” Mullen said earlier in the season. “Worrying about being the best that you can be. If you look at what he’s done and his ability coming in as a freshman and playing on special teams, playing on offense, throughout his entire career, he’s been an extremely consistent performer for us.

“[He] brings a lot of high energy every day to practice, performs on the field running the ball, performs catching the ball out of the backfield, a great blocker when we need him to be a great blocker and he’s a really good special teams player.
