The Florida State Seminoles had a fantastic season, going unbeaten in the regular season and winning the ACC. However, the season did hit turmoil when starting quarterback Jordan Travis went down, forcing backups Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn into action.

Rodemaker initially started the Florida game before suffering a concussion. That led to Glenn starting the ACC Championship Game and later the Orange Bowl once Rodemaker transferred out of the program. Through all of that, Travis stayed on the Florida State sidelines, supporting the team.

“Jordan has been awesome from the moment I stepped in here in January,” Brock Glenn said. “He took me in, literally like my older brother. That’s how I view him. We’ve grown an unbelievable bond together. I know I can go to him for anything. I know that everybody on the team feels the exact same way. That’s the type of guy he is. That’s the type of leader he is. You saw he left it all out there on the field this whole year. Outstanding player and even better person.”

The Orange Bowl didn’t go the way Florida State hoped it would, though it did quickly become a good learning experience for Brock Glenn. Throughout the lead up and the game itself, Jordan Travis was there to support Glenn.

“I’m just thankful that I was able to get to build a relationship with him and having him out here with me has been awesome and truly helpful. During the week in practice, after the practice he’d come up to me and tell me what he say, how I could do things better, and I tried to apply that to the best I could,” Glenn said.

“Even out here in the game, going to the sideline after a drive, he was in my ear constantly giving me encouragement, constantly giving me advice. He’s helped me tremendously.”

Jordan Travis pens emotional farewell to Florida State fans

Once the season came to an end, Jordan Travis penned an emotional farewell to Florida State fans.

“Thank you Florida State University. Thank you to my teammates and coaches. What a journey and I wouldn’t change a thing. ‘Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.’ God is great all the damn time,” Travis wrote.

Jordan Travis moves on from Florida State having led the Seminoles back to the top of the ACC. While his injury ended his career sooner than expected, Travis will still go down as one of the most important quarterbacks in the program’s modern history.
