Class of 2024 offensive tackle Tye Hylton of Ovideo (FL) High announced his commitment to Florida State Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 280 pounder chose the Seminoles over Penn State, Miami, UCF, and Florida.

Hylton on why he chose Florida State

“Honestly it was my mom telling me to commit early. I knew I loved FSU but I was gonna wait until early August but we had a talk that lasted a few days, so that changed my mind to commit earlier.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“I’m closest with Coach Atkins but very close with the whole offensive staff. He plans to use my athleticism and violence in the outside zone scheme a lot and in pass protection.”

Hylton ranks as the No. 749 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 48 offensive tackle and the No. 104 player in the state of Florida.

The Sunshine State offensive lineman joins coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles’ top 12 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star tight end Landen Thomas, four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek, and others.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
