Florida State has struggled to a 3-5 record this season under second-year coach Mike Norvell, but that doesn’t seem to be weighing on the minds of the Seminoles’ top two 2022 commits.

Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson athlete Sam McCall shared a graphic Monday morning with a picture of he and five-star athlete Travis Hunter. The words “Dynamic Duo” were overlaid on top of Doak S. Campbell Stadium.

Hunter retweeted McCall and said: “I’ve Been Patiently Waiting” with clock and hourglass emojis.

McCall, the No. 36 player in the industry-generated On3 Consensus rankings, committed to the ‘Noles since late February. Hunter, the No. 1 player in the 2022 class according to On3Consensus, pledged to Norvell and Co. since early March.

Sam McCall and Travis Hunter remain steadfast with Florida State

Both are the subject of heavy speculation given Florida State’s struggles and Norvell’s uncertain job security. Hunter visited Georgia twice in October. And Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart flew in a helicopter to watch his team play, even though Hunter has been sidelined by an ankle injury. Despite the overtures, Hunter has repeatedly said he’s committed to FSU.

He told ClemsonSports’ Joseph Hastings that things aren’t serious between him and the ‘Dawgs, though.

“I’m pretty much locked in with Florida State right now. My mind ain’t changing a little bit,” Travis Hunter said. “I’m not really keeping in touch with Georgia. I just went up there to watch a game, really. I let them do their job. Last I spoke with them was probably two weeks ago. I pretty much don’t talk with them like that.”

Hunter posted a tweet before his visit to Georgia that read: “I’m a Nole Nothing More Nothing Less I’m Not Decommitting Stop That Rumor Go Noles.”

McCall told On3’s Chad Simmons last month that he’s still solid with the Seminoles, but is keeping an eye on whether coaching changes will be coming.

“If the coaching staff stays the same, and all are back next year, then I am in. If they stay, I am staying in this class, and if they go, I probably go too.”
