The Florida State Seminoles are giving their fans a glimpse into the future on Saturday. They’re playing their spring game and giving everybody a taste of what’s to come in the upcoming college football season. The Seminoles quarterbacks are donning some special turquoise jerseys. Check out the non-contact jerseys they’re wearing on Saturday.

One interesting note on the broadcast was the overall team speed of Florida State this spring. The Seminoles have 10 players that have been tracked at 20 miles per hour or more in practice via their Catapult GPS tracking software. That’s some impressive team speed and it’ll be fascinating to see how the Seminoles perform next fall.

Pete Thamel spoke with the Florida State head coach ahead of the spring game

ESPN’s Pete Thamel tracked down the Florida State head coach ahead of the spring game and got him to touch on a few topics before the players started scrimmaging.

He recently noted that Florida State’s practice on Thursday was one of his team’s best and most competitive that he’s had there during his time with the ‘Noles. What does that say about the squad he’s got heading into next year?

“Well, I think those are one of those identity practices. A lot of eyes go on today (spring game), but what are you gonna do building up to it? And these guys definitely didn’t try to get through it. They tried to get better. And you know, it was a very competitive day. I thought it was definitely a positive step to what we ultimately want to be. And now we get a chance to go compete today,” Norvell said.

How does the FSU head coach feel about his team in the spring?

“It’s been a great spring practice. A lot of speed. A lot of explosiveness. We’ve seen a lot of great playmaking ability. And now it’s time to go do it in front of our fans and on television. So, it’s great to see these guys continue to work and take another step,” Norvell said.
