Florida State football bestowed some hardware on the 2023 roster recently — coinciding with the weekend of the Seminoles spring game — with ACC Championship rings making it to Tallahassee, finally. And Florida State didn’t shy away from being snubbed from the College Football Playoff despite a 13-0 season to that point.

As such, the theme of the rings is “UNCONQUERED,” an homage to the 13-0 mark the Seminoles put up through the regular season and ACC title game. There was apparently no mention of what happened in the Orange Bowl, a 63-3 loss to Georgia — albeit against a shell of the FSU team that went 13-0.

The rings also pay homage to the fact that the Seminoles have dominated in-state competition the past two seasons, winning matchups with two of their fiercest rivals.

Having swept rivals Florida and Miami in two consecutive seasons, the rings make mention of being “back-to-back” champions of the state. It also includes the scores that Florida State won by in those matchups in 2023.

The face of the ring features the ACC Championship trophy, along with the Seminole head logo. And with a retooled roster and plenty of talent in tow, the Seminoles are hoping to dish out some more rings next spring, hopefully after making an appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Florida State’s spring game was rather pyrrhic

Spring games are always fun for the fans to get a glimpse of their football rosters and how things are taking shape heading into the upcoming season. Coaches always want to survive the spring period with as few injuries as possible.

Unfortunately, Florida State players were banged up all over the place on Saturday. A number of players, including some big name stars, suffered injuries.

Alabama transfer offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson was down on the field for a few minutes. He was eventually helped off the field with assistance, but needed some help to get into the medical tent.

Ferguson wasn’t the only one to spend time in the tent. Running back Caziah Holmes came out of the medical tent and walked gingerly back to the locker room, according to Logan B. Robinson of NoleGameDay.

Head coach Mike Norvell was mum on the injuries in his postgame media appearance, seeming not to worried about any long term issues.

According to Warchant.com, Norvell noted that nothing looked “overly extensive”, but they will wait for further medical evaluations.
