Florida State lands transfer commitment from Alabama RB Roydell Williams
Florida State has landed a transfer commitment from former Alabama running back Roydell Williams, Warchant reports. He posted 560 rushing yards for the Crimson Tide in 2023.
Williams spent the last four seasons with the Crimson Tide before deciding to look elsewhere to use his remaining eligibility. Over those years in Tuscaloosa, Williams amassed 234 carries for 1,165 yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding 21 receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns — with the lion’s share of that production coming this season.
However, during the Rose Bowl against Michigan, Williams only carried the ball once and lost a yard, not seeing the field much in the Crimson Tide’s biggest contest.
Roydell Williams played high school football at Hueytown (AL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 86 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
