Former Florida State linebacker Jordan Eubanks has announced that he is committing to UNLV.

Eubanks announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Jan. 6 via TwitterOn3’s Matt Zenitz reported Eubanks news when it happened.

“First off I wanna give thanks and praise to God Almighty for all the blessings,” he wrote. “Next I’d like to thank Florida State for having an eye for my talents and giving me an opportunity to be a Seminole. With that being said, I’ve spoke with my parents and we decided that my journey has to shift. So, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal and see where my talent takes me. Thank you Florida State.”

Eubanks spent one season at FSU, mostly helping out the team on the practice field. He didn’t see any time in-game in 2021.

He is a former three-star recruit, per On3’s recruiting database. He was rated the No. 975 overall player in the 2021 class, No. 99 overall linebacker and No. 145 in Texas.

Prior to his original commitment to Florida State, Eubanks held offers from Michigan State, Arkansas, Pitt, Boston College and others.

As a senior at Guyer High School, Eubanks played in five games and recorded 40 tackles, one sack, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one pass breakup while helping Wildcats secure district championship and advance to state playoffs.

He receiving first-team all-district honors after helping lead Guyer to 14-2 record and 6A D-II state runner-up finish in 2019 with 63 tackles, including four for loss with one sack, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, one pass breakup and one blocked punt.

He also appeared in 11 games his sophomore season and made 14 tackles as Guyer advanced to second round of state playoffs.

Florida State went 5-7 this season, just missing out on a bowl game. The Seminoles had a chance to get that elusive sixth in in their last game of the year against Florida, but fell to the Gators 24-21.

Thanks to the COVID-19 rule, Eubanks will have four seasons of eligibility left to play at UNLV.
