Georgia EDGE transfer Marvin Jones Jr. commits to Florida State

Former five-star Georgia EDGE Marvin Jones Jr. has committed to Florida State.

The talented prospect hit the transfer portal after spending two years at Georgia, playing mostly as a reserve linebacker. He recorded 12 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2023.

He made more limited contributions as a true freshman in 2022.

Jones’ connection to Florida State is that his father played for the Seminoles. That made it an easier pitch for the ‘Noles.

Prior to enrolling at Georgia, Jones was a five-star prospect and the No. 20 overall recruit in the nation in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 4 EDGE prospect in his class and the No. 4 overall player from the state of Florida, hailing from Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage.
