Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis was carted off in the first quarter of the North Alabama game on Saturday night. He was seen clutching his left leg after he was tackled by a North Alabama defender with 1:43 remaining in the first quarter.

Travis was loaded up onto the cart and taken off the field by trainers and medical staff.

Here is the video of the injury.

Travis has been the driving force behind Florida State’s undefeated season. Losing him would obviously be a massive loss. Backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker took the majority of the reps for the rest of the game, while third stringer Brock Glenn came in to score his first touchdown as a Seminole in the fourth quarter.

North Alabama jumped on the Seminoles in the first quarter, leading 13-0. But Florida State dominated the rest of the way, blowing out NAU 58-13. The Seminoles piled up 400 yards of total offense in the final three quarters.

Jameis Winston honoring Jordan Travis

Former Florida State star quarterback Jameis Winston was the guest of honor for Saturday night’s contest against North Alabama. But upon his arrival, Winston was showing some love to the Seminoles’ current star signal caller, Jordan Travis.

Week 12’s game against North Alabama was Florida State’s final home game of the season. It also served as Senior Day for the Seminoles’ departing players. Not only that, but the Florida State athletic department elected to honor Winston on Saturday night, retiring his jersey, making this weekend a special occasion for Seminoles fans and players of both the past and present.

To celebrate the present, Winston showed up wearing Travis’s jersey, supporting the quarterback, who has a chance to join him as a national champion by the end of this season.

The CW broadcast caught up with Winston shortly after the injury, to see what words he had for Travis during this tough time:

“Well, I just want to continue to encourage him to stay resilient and continue to persevere. He was having one of the best years ever in college football and I’m grateful to be rocking his jersey,” Winston said. “The significance of his number, with us winning the championship in 2013 and him being one of the best quarterbacks this year. Man, I just want to continue to lift him up. Keep your head [up] bro.

“Stand firm. Be strong, courageous. The Lord has a plan for you that nobody can ever even imagine. So, just stay resilient. He has done that. So, I know to him and his family. I just wanna pray for his family. He’s gonna be fine. I know he will.”
