Florida State CRUSHES LSU in Orlando | Andy Staples Instant Reaction

On Sunday night, Florida State and LSU met for a neutral site matchup. Of course, with the game taking place in Orlando, it didn’t feel like a neutral site game and oftentimes seemed more like a home game for the Seminoles.

After the game, head coach Mike Norvell praised the Florida State fans for their turnout at Camping World Stadium and the atmosphere that they helped to create during the game.

“I would be remiss to not — and that atmosphere, our crowd, our fans, unbelievable job,” Mike Norvell said. “That was an electric atmosphere that we got to play in, and great to be here in our home state and to see such a wonderful turnout, and just the energy in that game.”

Norvell even said that the game had the feeling of a championship game to him. That wasn’t a surprise, though, with Norvell noting it had that feeling of a championship game before the game too.

“It had a championship-type feel to it, and you know, I thought it was just a great experience for our players and all that are a part of the program.”

The game itself was a back-and-forth affair in the first half before Florida State took charge in the second half. At one point, the Seminoles even went on a 31-0 scoring run in the second half before a garbage time touchdown gave LSU its first points of the second half. As things went on, the crowd was consistently loud, primarily cheering for the Seminoles. Mike Norvell knows that the energy those fans brought was a key piece of that run.

Next week, Florida State will actually head home to Tallahassee where the Seminoles will take on Southern Miss.

Jordan Travis says there is more to come

It was an exciting Week 1 game for Florida State. However, quarterback Jordan Travis says that there is more to come.

“It means a lot, but we’re just getting started,” Travis said postgame.

Jordan Travis knew there were some nerves that Florida State needed to get out of the way. However, once they were gone the team was ready to go in the second half.

“I think we just had to get those, that first-game nerves out of the way,” Travis said. “I think that’s all it was. Kudos to the coaching staff, I mean they came in with a great gameplan in that second half. And the offensive line stepped up real big. That’s the main thing, it all comes down to the offensive line. They work so hard and I’m so grateful for them, so that was a great win and I’m very thankful.”
