Florida State Vs Clemson Impact

Florida State freshman quarterback Brock Glenn will miss the next few weeks of action, coach Mike Norvell revealed Wednesday. Glenn suffered an injury in Week 2 against Southern Miss and was not at the ACC opener against Boston College on Saturday.

The freshman has not practiced since the injury, the nature of which was not disclosed. Fortunately, whatever it is isn’t a season-ending issue.

“He’ll be out for a few weeks,” Norvell said. “Had something in the first game. We’ll get him back here within the season and just continue to progress with him.”

Glenn played just one drive in the fourth quarter against the Golden Eagles but did not attempt a pass. However, he managed a 34-yard scramble on his first snap. He is the third string quarterback on the Seminoles roster behind Jordan Travis and Tate Rodemaker.

That being the case, Brock Glenn’s absence should have little impact on Florida State’s performance. The quarterback can take his time to make sure he recovers as he was likely to take a redshirt this season anyway.

Glenn was a three-star prospect coming out of Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis. He ranked as the No. 465 overall prospect and No. 29 quarterback in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He’ll have more opportunity to make an impact in future seasons, but for now his priority is acclimating to the college game and returning to full health. Florida State has a matchup against Clemson coming up at noon ET on Saturday.

Mike Norvell provides injury update on Jordan Travis

Glenn isn’t the only Florida State QB banged up as Travis exited Saturday’s game briefly before returning to action. Norvell provided an update on the injury, which occurred near the end of the first half, on Tuesday.

With a gigantic showdown with Clemson on the horizon for next weekend, Norvell gave Seminoles faithful some positive news regarding their quarterback.

“I was proud of him coming back,” Norvell said. “He got hit there, during the two-minute drill. Landed awkwardly. He was uncomfortable, probably physically, going into the second half. He came out, first two drives, had touchdown drives. Made some really good throws. Had some runs there late that were really good.

“I mean, he was sore after the game. But you know, I’m not worried about what his health will be here going forward.”
