Florida State is trending to land the commitment of Miami (Fla.) Norland four-star cornerback Jamari Howard, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

The ‘Noles currently have a 95.9% chance to land Howard, per the RPM.

Howard was once committed to Michigan State before decommitting from the Spartans back in May. He spoke with On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons about the Seminoles in August.

“Florida State does everything right with me,” Howard said. “They make sure I am well when I am there and they check on me every day. Coach Mike Norvell, Coach Randy Shannon, Ryan Bartow and a lot of guys are always in touch with me from Florida State. They do a great job of making me feel comfortable and like I could be part of the program there.”

On Monday, Howard announced that he will commit on Nov. 10 and will choose between Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State and Rutgers.

Florida recruiting insider Corey Bender logged an expert prediction with a 75% confidence level that Howard will ultimately choose the Seminoles.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder is the No. 136 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 17 cornerback and the No. 19 recruit in the state of Florida.

Howard currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $99,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Jamari Howard Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about Howard as a prospect:

“Long and rangy two-way player who turns whatever side of the field he is on into an island when playing corner. Measures in at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds with a freakish 6-foot-8 wingspan. Ran a 22.80 200m as well as a blistering 49.71 400m during his sophomore track and field season. Uses his length to manhandle receivers off the line of scrimmage. Has the recovery speed to get back in phase with receivers to make a play on the ball. Will naturally fill out his frame as he physically develops.”
