Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) The Benjamin School three-star cornerback Ricky Knight has committed to the Florida State Seminoles. He announced the news on Twitter.

Knight chose the Seminoles over their in-state rival Miami.

The 6-foot-1, 167-pound defensive back is the No. 461 overall prospect and No. 48 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 64 player in Florida.

Knight took a pair of April trips to Tallahassee before returning on June 16 for an official visit. Florida State was the first school to extend an offer to Knight in January.

“There were days I was crying in my room, talking to my mom and dad about what I was doing wrong,” Knight told On3’s Sam Spiegelman in March.. “I put in the work, but it was going unnoticed. I didn’t know what my future would like.”

“I showed out at the National Combine as one of the top DBs there and a few weeks later I got a call from FSU/ Coach Norvell offered me. Then I got five more calls from five more schools. My phone was blowing up, it was glitching, so I went to practice to get away from my phone. Now, I have 17 offers and I’m living out a dream a lot of people wish they could live out.”

Knight was the second commitment of the day for the Seminoles joining Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga four-star edge DD Holmes.

Currently Florida State has 13 pledges in its 2024 recruiting class. The class ranks No. 13 nationally and No. 2 in the ACC.

Ricky Knight currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $31K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
