Redshirt sophomore Jashaun Corbin scored the first touchdown of the season for Florida State, running 89 yards to the endzone against Notre Dame on Sunday night. The Texas A&M transfer played for the Seminoles in 2020 but continued to work past injuries sustained early in his career. The Rockledge, Florida native looks fully healthy in the 2021 season opener.

After 10 minutes of football the Florida State offense had -19 yards of total offense, failing to move forward on its first two drives. Just as fans were starting to worry about the lack of offense, Corbin ran through the line and broke a tackle in the secondary before picking up a key block from his wide receiver. From there, Jashaun Corbin was able to show off his track speed on the way to a touchdown.

According to CBS Sports analyst Chris Trapasso, Corbin’s slowest 100-meter sprint in high school was 11.23. The big run ranks No. 5 in Florida State school history for longest touchdown, per the ESPN broadcast.
