Class of 2024 five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV of New Haven (CT) IMG Academy announced his commitment to Georgia Wednesday afternoon.

The 6-foot, 180 pounder chose the Bulldogs over LSU, Colorado, Alabama, and Miami.

Robinson on why he chose Georgia

“What stood out to me about Georgia was the relationships I built with the coaches and I’m also very comfortable being there with the players and coaches. When I’m with the players on campus I feel like I belong there and I fit in as a player just like them. The relationship that I had with coach Fran from my freshman year from when he was at Rutgers made it an easier decision knowing I knew coach Fran ever since my freshman year.”

What it means playing for a program like UGA

“Knowing that I will be committing to a program that’s gone back to back is definitely something that I want a winning program and when I look at Georgia compared to these other schools that have been recruiting me Georgia definitely checks all the boxes.”

Ellis Robinson IV Scouting Summary

“Ball-hawking defensive back with elite length and ability to make plays on the ball as a high school underclassman. Dominated competition in New York’s Catholic league as a sophomore, bringing in eight interceptions. Made several impressive, acrobatic picks. Has advanced ball skills as a cornerback, which he pairs with outstanding length. Measured in at 5-foot-11.5, 169 pounds with a 6-foot-7 wing-span prior to his junior season. Also tests as a very good athlete, running a 4.56 second electronically-timed 40-yard dash. Transferred to IMG Academy for his junior season and should see an uptick in competition as a high school upperclassman.”

Robinson ranks as the No. 7 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 1 cornerback and the No. 1 player in the state of Florida.
