Micah DeBose was back in Athens this weekend for the National Championship celebration and he left wanting to be part of the Georgia program. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle out of Mobile (Ala.) Vigor was offered by the Bulldogs last summer and he has been a top target since.

The 2025 prospect has around 20 offers and the feeling he has in Athens is different from other places.

“I always have good vibes at Georgia,” DeBose told On3. “Georgia always makes me feel important. I have visited four times now and I love the vibes and the people. The coaches show me attention, I have good relationships and Georgia just has a different feel to it.”

DeBose saw Georgia beat Oregon and Georgia Tech in person during the season. He took in the parade and the celebration Saturday and he loved the message he heard.

“My favorite part of this weekend was hearing coach Kirby Smart and the people speak at the celebration. I really took it in and it motivated me. Coach Smart talked about hard work, being humble and I felt that.

“Success at Georgia revolves around hard work and I heard that being talked about this weekend. That hard work attitude Georgia has takes you places you don’t even think you can go as a person. That is a big part of their success.”

With back-to-back national titles, Georgia is riding high. They have a lot of talent coming back, they just signed another elite recruiting class and they have top five classes in the 2024 and 2025 Team Rankings.

DeBose does not see that changing.

“Coach Smart has really turned this program around. My dad always talked about Alabama was this and Alabama was that when I was growing up, but coach Smart has brought Georgia up to the top. I really like what he and his coaches are doing at Georgia. The way they work and recruit makes Georgia a top school.”

Stacey Searels has developed a bond with DeBose. The two have gotten to know each other and DeBose can’t wait to work with the Georgia offensive line coach.

“I love coach Searels,” DeBose said. “He is a great guy who knows how to coach offensive linemen. He is tough, he teaches his players to be physical and I love it. I will be at camp this summer to work with him and I am excited about that. We have a great connection and I believe in him as a coach.”

The talented tackle believes in Georgia as a program too.

“Georgia has great coaches, a great fan base and great academics. It is a school that can set me up for success in football and academics. Going to Georgia, I don’t have to worry about life after football. I know they care for me and will set me up to be successful. I love what Georgia has on and off the field.”

DeBose is the second 2025 prospect to commit to Georgia today. Defensive lineman Justus Terry pulled the trigger earlier.
