The Georgia Bulldogs enter the 2021 college football season with high hopes. Every team in college football has their question marks they must answer and Georgia is no different. What is the biggest question mark for the 2021 season for Georgia, according to PFF?

Georgia Football biggest question mark: J.T. Daniels

Let’s start off with the good news for Georgia fans. The good news is PFF had absolutely glowing remarks about the Bulldogs’ roster for the 2021 season.

Let’s take a look at this quote:Taking quarterback out of the equation, Georgia’s roster has the potential to contend with Alabama’s for the best in the country.” That’s a beautiful quote for Georgia fans but a bittersweet one, since the quarterback position is the most important in football.

PFF has a great deal of concern about J.T. Daniels, looking back all the way to his 2018 film at USC. He was graded out at a 59.9 in his true freshman season, ranking him outside the top 100 FBS quarterbacks.

This quote in the article will really disappoint Georgia football fans: “Daniels certainly has the arm to hit goballs along the sideline and takes his downfield shots, but temper any hype of him leading Georgia to a national championship. His four turnover-worthy plays and sub-50.0 grade in the Peach Bowl against Cincinnati — the only “great” defense he faced in four games last season — back that up.”

Struggles vs. Cincinnati

Georgia nearly lost to Cincinnati last season in the Peach Bowl, 24-21, but you can make a strong argument that Cincinnati was a really good football team with a great defense.

The Bearcat defense ranked top 15 in the country in points allowed per game (7th) and yards allowed per game (13th), so maybe PFF is being a bit harsh here.

That Cincinnati defense was also led by former defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman, who is one of the best coaches in college football. He was a finalist for the Broyles Award, given to the nation’s top assistant coach.

Freeman is now the defensive coordinator for Notre Dame and will likely land a head coaching gig somewhere in college football very soon.

George Pickens

The good news for J.T. Daniels is he returns one of the best receivers in college football in George Pickens. Pickens was named a Second Team Preseason All-American by Walter Camp.

He’s big, strong, and physical at the catch point. He’s got a blend of size, speed, and power that can be any quarterback’s best friend. He’s 6’3, 200 pounds and has hauled in 1,240 receiving yards total in his Georgia football career. Many people are expecting big things from him this season for the ‘Dawgs.
