Latest Basketball Transfer Portal Intel | Expert Breakdown with Joe Tipton

Georgia guard Mari Jordan has entered the transfer portal, per On3’s Jamie Shaw. Jordan only spent one season with the Bulldogs.

Jordan did not play in his lone season with the program and opted to use his redshirt. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Mari Jordan played high school basketball at Norcross (GA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 157 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Jordan committed to Georgia when Tom Crean was head coach. He chose UGA over multiple competing programs, including Nebraska, Xavier, Georgia State and James Madison.

Georgia finished this season with a 20-17 overall record and 6-12 mark in conference play. It was an improvement from head coach Mike White’s debut campaign at the helm of the program when the Bulldogs recorded a 16-16 record.

Jordan is the fifth Georgia player to enter the portal this offseason, joining Jalen DeLoach, Justin Hill, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe, and Jabri Abdur-Rahim.

Fellow Georgia Bulldog hits the transfer portal

Alexander Moncrieffe announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Monday. He posted a heartfelt message to social media along with his decision.

“My career at Georgia has had its ups and downs throughout it all I’ve felt tremendous love and support from this wonderful community,” he wrote. “As my career here comes to an end I want to take time to thank everyone from the janitors, administration, GA’s, managers, to the barbers, classmates, fans, coach, everyone that’s helped me get through this year. Now it’s time I enter the transfer portal to remind y’all who I am.”

A senior, Alexander-Moncrieffe played the two seasons at Georgia. He averaged 1.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game having played in 16 games while making four starts. During his first season with the program, he was more productive having started 26 of the 28 games Georgia played that season.

Before his time in Athens, he spent the first two seasons of his college career at Oklahoma State. His best season was his first, logging career highs in points (9.0 per) and rebounds (5.3).

He is a former four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Ratings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
