The Georgia Bulldogs get their chance to impress another transfer prospect this week. Mike White and his staff are hosting Clemson point guard Al-Amir Dawes on Thursday, according to hoops insider Jon Rothstein. Dawes is an experienced guard who just completed his junior season. He put his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal two weeks ago.

Dawes, a 6-foot-2, 182-pound prospect, averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 40.5% from the field for the Tigers in 2021-2022. His best game of the season came in Clemson’s season-opening win over Presbyterian, as he scored 21 points while making four 3-pointers.

In Dawes’ last outing for Clemson, a loss to Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament on March 9, the guard scored just six points while taking only four total shots in 26 minutes of action.

A former On3 Consensus three-star recruit out of the Class of 2019, Dawes committed to Clemson in Oct. of 2018 while at St. Patrick High School in Newark, New Jersey.

If the Clemson transfer chooses Georgia, he’ll be immediately eligible to play next season. Dawes has two years of eligibility remaining.

Georgia lands Terry Roberts out of Bradley

The Georgia Bulldogs have a long way to go to rebuild the roster for 2022-23, but they’re making some progress.

Former Bradley guard Terry Roberts will transfer to Georgia next season, he announced via his Instagram account this week. The post features highlights from his one season with the Braves as well as a graphic of Roberts in a Bulldogs jersey.

A JUCO transfer who played his first two collegiate seasons at Florida Southwestern State College, Roberts averaged 14.5 points, 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Braves in 2021-22. The 6-foot-3 point guard started 31 games, helping Bradley to a 17-14 finish. For his performance, he was also named the Missouri Valley Newcomer of the year as well as first-team all-conference.

Roberts is set to join a Georgia team that posted an abysmal 6-26 record this past season. That prompted the Bulldogs to part ways with coach Tom Crean after just four seasons, hiring Florida’s Mike White as his replacement.

After entering the NCAA Transfer Portal last month, Roberts quickly received attention from numerous schools. He reportedly chose Georgia over interest from OregonOklahoma StateFlorida and many others.

Roberts received little D-I interest out of Believe Prep (NY), which prompted him to go the junior college route. While playing at Florida Southwestern State, Roberts broke the school record for career steals with 122 across two seasons. He also finished third in the school’s history in career assists (214) and eighth in career points scored (524). Heading into his junior season, he received more than 15 offers including from North Texas, UAB and Wichita State.
