With five-star quarterback Julian Lewis off the board to USC and elite four-star passer Matt Zollers now committed to Missouri, Georgia has turned its attention to another coveted QB prospect.

Findlay (Ohio) four-star Ryan Montgomery has now moved to the top of UGA’s board, and the Bulldogs look to be in prime position to land him with his commitment date coming on April 17. On Monday, Montgomery announced he would make his decision just 48 hours later, with Florida, South Carolina and Georgia as the finalists.

And just a few short hours later, On3’s Steve Wiltfong has logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Georgia to land him.

South Carolina insider Chris Clark also logged a pick in favor of UGA.

Bulldogs turned up the heat in recent weeks on Montgomery

With the Bulldogs chasing Zollers and Lewis, most believed that Montgomery would end up in either Gainesville or Columbia. But Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo continued to recruit him, and the recent visit to Athens in January made a strong impression on him.

“This (recent) visit was super important just to get all my questions answered and see where we are,” Montgomery said on Jan. 30. “There’s a lot of mutual interest. I’m in a pretty good spot with Georgia right now.”

Georgia’s communication has also picked up in the last few weeks. Florida hosted him two weeks ago as well, Montgomery is set to visit South Carolina on Saturday.

However, with a commitment on the horizon and the Bulldogs trending, that trip could be in jeopardy.

Montgomery is the No. 186 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 14 quarterback and the No. 9 recruit in Ohio.
