Georgia coach Kirby Smart had several players on his offensive line dealing with injuries in Saturday’s 42-20 victory over rival Florida. In his postgame press conference, he provided what updates he could on all of them, but said he won’t be certain of their status for Week 10 against Tennessee until later this week.

“We were getting dinged up,” Smart said. “Warren (McClendon)‘s shoulder was messing with him. (Xavier) Truss had a toe, but he still played. He played on the field for PAT. So I don’t know how severe that is. (Amarius) Mims‘ knee, but I think he’s gonna be fine. It’s a slight MCL. Not like Jalen (Carter)‘s, but again, you don’t know the answer to these things until tomorrow or further.”

Even with its offensive line banged up, Georgia held the Gators without a sack on Saturday. They also paved the way for 239 yards rushing on six yards per carry.

However, a much more difficult task awaits them next week when the No. 2 Volunteers travel to Athens. Tennessee and Georgia rank as the top two offenses in the SEC, so Kirby Smart will need his offensive line to be as healthy as possible to keep up in what should be a fast-paced game.

Stay tuned for more injury updates throughout the week before the Bulldogs and Volunteers kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Kirby Smart provides update on injury to Nolan Smith

The offensive line wasn’t the only position group banged up after Saturday. Starting outside linebacker Nolan Smith went down with a shoulder injury in the second quarter and never returned to the game.

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart provided the first update on Smith postgame, saying he believes the injury is a separated shoulder. However, he was unable to provide a timetable for his return with the game having just concluded.

“I’m not even sure what it is,” Smart said. “I want to say it was a separated shoulder. I don’t know how severe it is, so we’ll find out. I know that Chaz (Chambliss) came in a did a really good job. Robert Beal filled in for him. Marvin (Jones) had the flu so we couldn’t get him in there. We had several guys that were sick coming into the game.”
