Following the running back drills at the 2022 NFL Combine last week, former NFL star LaDainian Tomlinson joined NFL Network’s coverage to help find the player who raised his stock the most. Standing out from a group which posted unprecedented numbers, Georgia running back Zamir White topped the list.

LaDainian Tomlinson broke down what separated Zamir White’s weekend and why he could fly up draft boards over the next several weeks leading into the 2022 NFL Draft.

“I’m looking at a guy not many people paid attention to, Zamir White,” said LaDainian Tomlinson. “When you look at Zamir White, he’s a big guy, big physical runner. But he ran low 4.4s today. And the other thing about him, he caught the ball well today.

A 4.40 for a guy that size, 214-pounds, right at 6-feet, this is a guy that can develop into possibly a three-down back. But certainly, when he comes into the National Football League, he’s going to be able to provide depth for a team right away. And the other thing about him is, he’s a great protector of the quarterback. That’s one thing that’s very important that he’s going to be able to do day one. So I think Zamir White is someone they’re going to go back – and look at his game film – and see that, ‘we might have this guy ranked a little bit too low.’”

White also showed off during his time in college. Despite splitting time at running back with fellow draft prospect James Cook, along with new Georgia feature backs Kendal Milton and Kenny McIntosh, he became a fan favorite.

Over three seasons, White ran for 2043 yards and 43 touchdowns but only added 132 receiving yards.

More about Zamir White

When the official NFL Combine numbers came back, Zamir White ranked among the most impressive on Day Two of the event. Working out with running backs and offensive linemen, he posted a 4.40 official 40-yard dash. In addition, White finished with a 33.5-inch vertical jump and a 128-inch broad jump.

Coming into college, White ranked as a five-star running back, the 12th overall prospect nationally, the second prospect out of North Carolina, and the top running back according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He chose Georgia over Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and many others.
