Georgia currently has the No. 1 class in the 2024 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Bulldogs are far from done adding to their group, however.
Head coach Kirby Smart is attending Jefferson (Ga.)’s game against Athens (Ga.) Clarke Central on Friday night. A top Georgia target, Jefferson four-star linebacker Sammy Brown, is taking part in the contest.
Brown is the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Georgia.
The 6-foot-2.5, 225 pound prospect has taken four unofficial visits to Georgia. His most recent trip to Athens was on March 1.
“Every time I see people in public they’re like, You need to go to Georgia’ and there is a really strong Georgia fan base where I live and in the surrounding areas,” Brown told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “If I don’t go to Georgia, it might hurt a few people but I know they’ll be supportive of where I go. They’ll always support me because I go to Jefferson. They’re always going to be supportive of me. It may impact me a little bit because you don’t want to let all those people don’t, but I will say it doesn’t affect my decision that much.”
The Bulldogs’ 2024 class currently contains three prospects. They are Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star tight end Landen Thomas, Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Ny Carr and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) DeMatha Catholic four-star running back Tovani Mizell.
Brown has an On3 NIL Valuation of $126K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“A physical freak of nature whose athletic ability is off the charts. Stands in at 6-foot-2.5, 225 pounds with a 6-foot-6 wingspan. Jumped a 34-inch vertical and 10-foot-1 broad jump during the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Ran some mind-boggling track times during his sophomore track and field season with a 10.70 100m, a 21.81 200m and jumped a 22-foot-2 long jump as well. The athleticism translates to the field with his ability to chase down ball carriers from sideline to sideline popping off the screen as well as his long speed as a ball carrier. High upside prospect whose athletic ability alone makes him a borderline lock as a NFL draft pick.”
